I tested out five different products from this brand. A twelve color eye shadow palette titled “Supernatural,” a perfect travel sized black mascara, an eyeliner and eye shadow dual pencil, a “Charmed” lipstick/gloss duo, and a nail polish named “Energy Source.” The best part about all of these products is that they are each only $1! You can’t get much better than that, especially if you’re on a strict budget like me.
The “Supernatural” palette comes in an assortment of pretty blues and greys. It definitely does not apply the same way that higher end make up does, so you will need to invest in a good primer to make the shadow pop on your eyes. This palette is great to create a light smoky eye. It comes with a two-headed sponge brush. I would suggest investing in synthetic brushes to get a more precise application.
The “Charmed” lip duo has a deep red lipstick and a sparkly maroon gloss. I am not very fond of this particular product. I like the color of the lipstick and it goes on nicely, but it has a weird scent. I can’t place what it smells like exactly, but I am not a fan. The gloss is a little too shimmery for my liking and has a strange taste. I prefer my lip colors to be virtually scentless and tasteless, so the waxy bitter taste takes away from the great color of the lipstick. The color also doesn’t last very long before fading away. But hey, it was only a $1.
L.A. Colors is awesome for creating a cruelty free brand that is affordable for everyone. It has an array of make up options to please everyone looking for inexpensive make up.
