Beyonce has just released a video designed to encourage fans to go vegan. She returned to the stage for Coachella 2018, for her first, now legendary performance after the birth of her twins, Rumi and Sir, the previous year. To master those moves (and fit into those amazing costumes!) Beyonce detailed some pretty extreme slimming tactics on her Netflix documentary Homecoming. Now, this new video outlines her 44-day regime, which began with a plant-based diet.
Marco Borges and the Carters think so. Beyonce has become so empowered and so passionate about veganism, they’ve even partnered to form the Greenprint project. Modeled after Borges’ 22 Days program, which is designed to make it easier and more accessible to go vegan, for at least 22 days. The pledge offers tips and tricks to stick with the diet regimen. Both Beyonce and Jay-Z shared their pledges to veganism to help inspire their fans and even offered a chance at free concert tickets for fans willing to take the pledge.
Best of all, Borges says that the point is not to be restrictive, but to find a way to fit more plant-based foods into your life naturally. Switching from an omnivore to a completely plant-based diet doesn’t have to be a struggle. Beyonce has made Meatless Monday a part of the family routine, as well as enjoying a vegan breakfast every day. Jay-Z has made a pledge to eat two meals per day. Borges says that while it will maximize the benefits to stick to a plant-based diet, ideally, anything that allows for more veggies and less processed food in your diet is going to provide overall benefits.
