I recently bought Tarte’s Neutral Eyes Volume II Eye Palette to replace all of my old eye shadows. It comes in an adorable purple case with ten different shades of shadow. There are five matte shades and five shimmer shades. The colors range from shades of pink, earthy greens, browns, and subtle purple.
I fell in love with this palette after just a few uses. The primer goes on lightly, even with the shadow on top. It doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing make up! The brush came with two sides—flat and round shaped ends. The synthetic bristles are soft and great for sensitive skin. The flat brush works well for applying the base and lid coats, while the round side is perfect for adding more details and dimension.
The eyeliner is the bomb.com. It applies smoothly and lasts all day. If you’re not used to a more wet application, be careful. It may take some time to get the hang of putting it on without smudging. At first I was a little hesitant on how I would feel about this brown liner. I’m a die-hard black liner kind of girl, but I was pleasantly surprised with how fantastic the brown looked. It applies the perfect shade of brown—dark enough to be noticed, but still more natural than my beloved black.
While I was buying the palette, I couldn’t resist buying Tarte’s Waterproof mascara. It comes in a fabric-covered tube that effortlessly matches the eye palette case! How could I pass up this opportunity? The mascara does a good job of lengthening the lashes, but I was a little disappointed with the volume. I want my eyelashes to look dramatic and for people to question if they are real. I do like how it applies, though. It doesn’t do that gross clumping nonsense. However, I would definitely need another mascara on top to give my lashes the desired look.
