Rombaut Natural Footwear was founded by Mats Rombaut and is based in Paris, Farance. Rombaut found a way to make a sustainable and more friendly type of leather by developing plant-based materials. Rombaut is dedicated to "protecting bio-diversity and aims to provide a way forward for a world in need of change." |
Using plant-based alternatives such as, coconut fiber, and even potato starch, Rombaut can make very robust and fashionable shoes. Now, you might have a good idea what pineapple leather is made of, but there is actually a big variety of stuff used to make it. Of course pineapple is one of the main ingredients along with some fruit and vegetable waste. The mixture makes this durable, and makes it very similar to leather used from animals. However, this is only used for fruits and vegetables from plants and makes pineapple leather vegan and animal friendly. But how did Rombaut make this possible? Well being a long time vegan, this 26 year old Belgian designer already had his talents in front of him. Rombaut Natural Footwear is based in Paris France and is available to many countries such as, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Norway, Singapore, The United Kingdom, The United States, and Taiwan. |
